Every 'I do' begins with a ring. Rings might come in all shapes, colors, and sizes, but they do represent one thing: The united love shared between two people.
Before I was engaged, I didn't think terribly much of wedding rings... I mean I knew I wanted one someday and that it'd be one I found pretty, but it wasn't until the proposal that the meaning behind the ring truly came to life. Suddenly nothing mattered. In that moment, all that mattered was the best man in the world was offering me the most priceless gift, and one that he wanted to give forever.
That's when it hit me. This ring wasn't just a ring or something that makes my hand look pretty, this ring was a symbol of a lifetime ahead of love and adventure. That's what a ring is, rather than just an object, its a promise. It's special and treasured.
For that very reason, I'm drawn to rings. I ask every bride and groom I meet with about their relationship leading up to the proposal, and how it happened. Was it a surprise? How did you react? I love hearing the stories! Each and every one is different, filled with personal ideas and a memeries. And in the midst of each unique story, they all end with a ring, that amazing, symbolic, forever ring.
